Immune system booster from the forests of
Peru
During the last 25 years, South American
and European research on cat’s claw has
confirmed native uses for degenerative
diseases ranging from arthritis to cancer,
immune problems, a wide variety of
intestinal problems and hormonal
imbalances. For instance, it clearly
enhances the ability of white blood cells
to attack foreign matter. Other findings
indicate that it may help prevent stroke
and heart attacks.
Cat’s Claw Combination also adds
astragalus and echinacea. Both are
well-known powerful immune system
stimulants.
Nature’s Sunshine uses the most potent
species of cat’s claw, Uncaria tomentosa.
Other supplements containing Uncaria
guianensis may lack the most important
immune stimulating properties.
Research: Cats Claw (61 studies, 4
clinical trials); Test tube studies of the
alkaloids found in cat’s claw found it to
stimulate immune function. Alkaloids and
glycosides in cat’s claw have also
demonstrated anti-inflammatory and
antioxidant activity. In a double-blind
trial, cat's claw taken for four weeks was
significantly more effective than a
placebo at relieving pain and improving
the overall condition of osteoarthritis.
