Fenugreek & Thyme - Herbal Supplement
Expectorant for sinus and lung congestion
The combined effect of fenugreek with thyme
is to open, loosen and stimulate the gentle
removal of mucus. It activates body
secretions (loosens phlegm) while calming
nerves (reducing urge to cough) and building
immunity (to prevent respiratory
infections).
Fenugreek soothes inflamed tissues. It
softens and dissolves thickened mucus to
clear sinuses, lungs and the lymphatic
system. It is used to treat bronchitis,
respiratory tract infections and gastritis.
Thyme is aromatic and dilates the
bronchioles and stimulates ciliary movement
in the lung. It also contains bitter
components that relax smooth muscle spasms.
This relaxing activity may explain its
ability to help with migraine headaches.
Research: Traditionally, Fenugreek
(209 studies, 6 clinical trials) was used
for the treatment of wounds, abscesses,
arthritis, bronchitis, and digestive
problems. Modern studies have revealed that
fenugreek can help lower cholesterol and
blood sugar levels in people with moderate
atherosclerosis and non-insulin-dependent
(type 2) diabetes1. Preliminary
and double-blind trials have found that
fenugreek helps improve blood sugar control
in diabetes patients.2
